Positive: We were more than pleasantly surprised to find such a wonderful place to stay so close to Horton Plains. The property is very spacious and modern, and finished to a very high standard, with a living area for relaxing separate from the bedroom. It is completely self-catering and little away from the centre so come prepared as it does have a kettle and microwave ( no fridge though). The caretaker is very friendly and helpful and he put us in contact with the owner whose English is perfect, so there were no misunderstandings. We were able to park our tuktuk in a garage, which was great. The WiFi was excellent too with reliable internet connection throughout our stay (a first while travelling in Sri Lanka). There were even fresh flowers, which was a lovely touch. The property is located along a narrow lane, walking distance from Pitapola Station and it has a great view of the railway line and mountains in the distance, and is set in a lovely garden. It was very peaceful. Being at high altitude, it gets cool over night, but we were provided with a warm blanket and there is a fan heater, which we didn't need. The bathroom is modern and was spotlessly clean. It took us only 30-minutes to reach the entrance to Horton Plains National Park in our tuktuk. The 12:00 check out enabled us to return to the property to take a shower after our hike on Horton Plains and before continuing our journey.
Negative: Nothing. It's a gem.
